The booklet of two doctors aims to help people with diabetes to prevent hypoglycemia episodes by providing with plenty of information, practical tips and recommendations.
“Hypoglycemia, also known as low blood sugar, is a fall in blood sugar to levels below normal. This may result in a variety of symptoms including clumsiness, feeling of hunger, sweating, shakiness, weakness, trouble talking, confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures or death. […] Treatment of hypoglycemia in diabetes involves immediately raising the blood sugar to normal through the eating of carbohydrates such as sugars, determining the cause, and taking measures to hopefully prevent future episodes.”
Yellow is a main color for its representation of “warmth” – one of the most common symptoms of low blood sugar. Typography – classic serif paired with modern and easy readable sans serif. Customized icons and illustrations (main graphic elements – irregular round shape and a pattern of symmetrically arranged dots – stand for the contrast of “shakiness, weakness of hypoglycemia” and “a strict routine/recommendations to follow in order to avoid it”.
