2019 / Concept for a To-Do List App (in: UI Design Course at CareerFoundry)
“Flo, the Happy Whale” is a to-do list app that aims to help people staying mindful and develop daily/weekly habits to nourish all the 5 basic components of human happiness. That includes: body, mind, engagement, relationships and meaning.
The user is asked to use the app mainly twice a day: in the morning and in the evening. Morning time is dedicated for reviewing tasks of the day or/and adding them. While in the evening his aim should be to restrospect and evaluate his performance and give a value of his general happiness level of the day.
During the day the user will receive notifications that will remind him of the tasks he has to accomplish. They are an important part of the app. However, the user has an option to turn notifications off or to create custom ones. The goal was to make notification settings as simple and easy as possible.

Styling and Final UI Design
Flo, the whale, is a happy, friendly and helpful creature. Thus, calmer hues of warm and happy colours were chosen, reflecting each of the category (yellow stands for healthy body, red – for active mind, etc.). Round typo Dosis stands for friendliness and geometric Avenir – for simplicity. Custom two-colour icons, in order to add a feeling of playfulness, were created.
